ASHA IN NUMBERS

This year Asha worked with fifty-eight different nationalities of whom 68% were from Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Eritrea, Afghanistan, Albania, Syria, Ethiopia, Egypt, and an assortment in small numbers from other countries.

Of the 1,221 new arrivals accommodated in the two Hanley hotels, Asha has registered 978 adults and 243 children. In addition, Asha has offered services to 950 asylum seekers already accommodated in Stoke.

ASHA SHARES IN THE MAYOR’S COMMUNITY WEEKEND

Asha joined with projects across the West Midlands to highlight the diversity, unity and community spirit that exists in communities. There was good food and lots of fun.

TEAM BUILDING

Team building is an Asha priority. Meeting at Rudyard, the focus was on key performance indicators.

The venue offers an opportunity for staff to recharge their batteries, essential if they are to remain fresh and open to the stories they hear, and the problems they encounter which are often beyond their reach to solve.

#LoveSOT CAMPAIGN

VAST: “We had a FANTASTIC time on Wednesday taking part in the #LoveSOT campaign! We welcomed 18 people from Asha North Staffordshire who kindly volunteered at The Dudson Centre for the day alongside our Support and Volunteering Team!

We braved the adverse weather to help plant new flowers for our courtyard, sand down benches ready to be repainted and litter picked around the centre.

A big thank you to The Dudson Museum and Café for providing our visitors with a great tour of the museum.

Another thank you to Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID for kindly lending us some litter pickers.”
