The British Red Cross and Refugee Action hold a drop-in service at Asha North Staffordshire every Thursday from 9.30am to 2pm.

The British Red Cross offers immigration advice and casework, and some short-term financial support for destitute asylum seekers. Refugee Action, meanwhile, assists those who are having difficulty applying to the Home Office for housing and support.

These agencies working alongside one another allows for a collaborative approach when there is a crossover of clients. Most weeks, the British Red Cross also attend Asha North Staffordshire on Mondays and Fridays for follow-up interviews.

Both services use well-prepared and inducted volunteers and offer intermittent training events for both local and asylum seeker volunteers.
